I've never heard myself say "Yo, Yo, wut up dude?" either, and yet I still like Kanye West. And you can't assume peoples musical tastes just because of their job or race. Computer people and reporters could have enjoyed the music as well. You can't say that they didn't with any certainty. I enjoy all sorts of music, and I'm sure many other people do as well.

After watching the whole keynote and then at the to see Kanye West was a big change in the whole mood in the room. Just take a look at the audience that was there, they all where stuned.

We in scandinavia have put up with MS for years up without raising a voice against MS's strive towards total monopoly. Now when there a new player has entered in a less profitable market and doing well...BAM!

No, they licensed out their OS to everyone and anyone who could slam together a box and then set about strong-arming box-makers to use Windows and only Windows.
Plus, PCs were and are cheap.
The success of Windows has NOTHING to do with its quality as an OS, and has everything to do with MS' comfortable universal licensing racket.

The Cinema Displays aren't for general consumers like most of you posting in this thread. They're for professionals who need even backlighting, excellent color accuracy, and a large viewing angle. That's why Apple charges a premium for them. If you don't care about these things get a Dell.

Equivalent of $10,500 USD. Hard to say if that is reasonable with currency exchange from AUD. Also the tsunami has put massive supply constraints on canon, and RRPs are going up across the board.

well i'm just having all kinds of problems. i noticed i had 2 of my systems down! the alienware and the home built rig - both were running 3.7 ghz, go figure.
so i decided to drive the 1.5 hours back to my apartment and check on them. i drove thru a storm to get here, and the power had flickered! so everything, including my server had restarted! good thing i decided to make the drive.
so hopefully i can get things straight here, and then i still gotta drive back and go to work in the am

Why did Apple do away with live feeds of the event? That seems like a good idea. What are they trying to avoid?
That little thing called bandwidth. You know how many people will be hitting that streaming video stream if it were live? With it being tape delayed, Apple can somewhat spread out the number of people who will be watching it.
Heck I have a hard enough time viewing the keynote hours after it was released, never mind trying to do it live.

Can't believe this is a front page article. It's more likely that I'll see pigs flying when I head to work today.
There can't even be interest in this anymore. What possible benefit could Apple obtain by moving to AMD? Marginally faster server processors? I simply can't believe Apple would spend any R&D (and there is always some R&D that has to be done, even if they are both x86 based) on this unless and until they need to pressure Intel to lower prices or something.

Last night I was watching a program called The Real King's Speech, a documentary on Prince Albert's/King George VI's struggle to deal with his speech impediment.
At least twice it was mentioned that he was born left-handed and forced by his father (with regression therapy perhaps?) to use his right hand.
Precisely, some of the side effects of forced change are learning disorders, dyslexia, stuttering and other speech disorders.

I posted a story to digg (http://www.digg.com/apple/MacRumors_spoils_keynote_for_watchers_on_their_spoiler_free_page) regarding the spoiling issue. I think Arn was extremely responsive to the issue and avoiding these kinds of inadvertent spoiling is difficult to do in this day and age. My brother even txted me a spoiler. Is it possible to be completely unspoiled regarding something like this?
There is no spoiling information so far in the story, but I imagine most of us are avoiding digg like the plague.
I mean that's great, but a bit of foresight would be better. I don't understand why a simple, non-postable page or thread could not be dedicated to just one simple link. That's the irritating point. Interesting that the original post in this thread states that it is indeed an LTE Verizon iPhone. That seems to coincide with the video of the parts that were leaked on youtube a couple days ago, showing a sim card slot on the new phone. I think I read somewhere that LTE phones require a sim card, and also, LTE is capable of simultaneous voice/data. The stars seem to be aligning.
lets hope. I won't be upgrading to iPhone on my VZW line until something better than the iPhone4 I have on my att line is offered.

That again? You do realize that 9/11 had very little to do with airport security but everything to do with incompetence on the side of the secret service and negligence on the side of the US government? TSA has not made airtravel any safer than prior to 9/11.
The secret service might get lucky and stop a terrorist organisation before they do any harm, but they can do nothing to prevent a nutter getting on a plane if he doesn't have any record. It's up to the airport security to limit the weapons available to him on the plane, it's the best they can do.
And it's up to everyone to decide what the 'best balance' is between privacy and safety. One thing is certain - the TSA (or any other airport authorities around the world) are always wrong: searches like this are wrong/if a weapon slips through and is used in a hijacking they're wrong.

Yeah I have my gpu's are up right now, and I have one bigadv rig going, but i lost a unit last night -about 18% was done. Hopefully this one works.
I got the air fixed, so it's not 85 degrees anymore. I might get to setup my new system here soon.
