If you get it by 25, you have some years to go hit something for your life.
I stopped worrying on GC and started living on tasks that help my family. I have a job now. If lost, I will go for another job and another and another in India/Europe/Australia/so and so. But surely not going to die or go to hospital for depression.

Hi,
In another thread, IV is proposing only pushing filing 485 before priority date. I try to understand what the benefits are by filing it. For one thing, you can switch jobs after 6 months? How about setting up your own consulting company?

That's really nice. Even I heard a lot of success stories like your's. That's the reason I started approaching non-profit organizations for volunteering. But in may case it is working the other way round. May be because I am in to IT.
But this episode brought my morale down a little bit because for the first time I felt that I am an alien here.
Anyway I may have to think twice before approaching for volunteering again.....

Can't believe getting usa passport for my little one required two page application and just the birthcert, But for PIO they need everything in the world!
Yeah, because you applied for US passport for a US citizen :D, whereas PIO was permanent entry card for a foreign national. Naturally more documentation is required where foreign nationals are involved, look at your own green card process :D

Sounds to me like it might be dust on the sensor. Look at your manual to see if it describes how to clean the sensor.

I have had my D50 for 4 weeks now. I've just been on holiday and discovered that I'm getting a black circular spot near the top left of my pictures. The spot IS NOT visible through the viewfinder, only after I have taken the picture. With the aperture wide open, the spot is less defined, but if I close down to around F22 or similar, it becomes sharper & more pronounced. Also, it's not a lens problem, as I have tried both my lenses at ALL zoom focal lengths and it's still there. I have used a blower on the mirror but not sure what or where the problem is. Any ideas ?

Think just getting marriage license is not sufficient. The license is a precursor to marriage (and as far as I know there is a particular time period after license to get married in a church, personal ceremony or court).
I do not feel that getting married in the US is a problem. You get the license and then you can get married at a court the next day. It is called a "Civil Marriage".
I know of people who have done this in the past and have got GCs.

It should not be an issue. I know several people who have done this on a regular basis.
You can re-enter the country with an unexpired H1 visa stamp and by showing the new I-797. Change of employers does not invalidate a H1 visa stamp.

I am going to search in this forum for sample covering letter. But if anybody has the info handy please let me know.

RFE and NOID come with a color sheet of paper with your details and some USCIS internal codes for your case. You can respond by yourself and put the sheet on top - this is for the mailroom to handle your case

Yesterday I got emails that both me and my wife's 485 were transferred to TSC from NSC although I am staying in Ohio which comes under NSC. It could be the load balancing I think. I hope it's good cos TSC is much faster to process 485 applications. Mine is EB2 March 2006.

I travelled to India first time after coming to USA. The airline people did not take my I94 from me. I was not aware if I had to turn it in. I came back and got another I94. Now what do I do with my old I94? My 140/485 is in progress.

Hehe ... thanks for enlightening the folks here but to tell you the truth - I have been doing this for years using Photoshop for all of my family and friends, just that I go to Fedex Kinkos which costs me .42 for a single 4x6 print ... :)

I strongly disagree with previous comment. CA is though certification, it has course work which can be claimed as Masters degree (or advanced degree). I am a CA but even have Master degree got GC under EB2. But I know atleast one more person who is CA but without Master degree got GC under EB2. You need to get education evaluation done such a way that you qualify as done course work equivalent to Master degree. Good Luck

So I have to join the new employer only after the new I-140 is approved right..my current I-140 is already approved..
You can move to a new employer and start EB-2 (PERM based LC, I-140 etc.) with them. You can still retain the old PD because your I-140 has been approved.

Folks,
How are the taxi charges from Chennia airport to the town or station ? Do the drivers charge whatever they feel like or is it controlled?
My parents are leaving back from the US and will be landing in Chennai, they are not from Chennai....so not sure if I should try to book a taxi before hand...or the charges are controlled ? Also, do they have something like pre-paid taxi ?
The flight (emirates) lands at 3 or 4 am.
Also, any recomendations for Hotels ? Ideally near the railway station.

Just choose a hotel and then compare the price with these three websites. In the last 2 years I Booked hotels in chennai through agoda at least 6 times and everytime the price was atleast 500 to 1000 rs cheaper than other websites. I am talking about 3 and 4 stars.
