Couldn't resist opening a new thread and sharing this with fellow IVians.
We got our green cards today. It is actually green (in the back).
Another announcement is that I recently relocated to northern Mississippi. Would like to join up with other state chapter members. I am willing to coordinate with the group in Memphis TN.
Thanks IV. I and my spouse benefited a lot from the July 2007VB and the work IV did concerning it. So, I will do more than just stick around but continue to be active as usual. The system is still broken and we will have to work to fix it.

Have you checked the job codes for the two jobs ? Just given this information, the new role does look similar. However, I would run this by an attorney just to be safe.
Where can I find these job codes, I can lookup the old job code because I have the 750, but for the new one, where can i find that, I just have the company's job posting...

In the same boat, I have the same status on USPS tracking for delivery at TSC. Will wait and see if the status changes or if they cash the check. So I guess you are not alone. :-)

How long does it take to get EAD card by post after Finger printing is done?
I don't think both are related. Folks are getting EADs along with FP notices or receipts at TSC. Its just that NSC is slooow.

I am going to travel to India.
I am in H1B and have valid Advanced Parole and expired EAD.
What are the documents needed for Advanced Parole in Port Of Entry. Also my lawyer is going to file the EAD this week.
1. 485 Receipt Notice.
2. Copy of 140 Approval Notice.
3. Employment Verification Letter.
Anything else? Please let me know.

My Employment Model: E/V/C = employer/vendor/client. Working with the same employer for 5th year now and after initial H1b (3 years) this is my second H1 B renewal)
Visa Officer: A Lady
Visa Officer's comments to me: Everything looks good but we need to do some additional admin review.
Documents requested: The application packet my company gave me. These were returned to me at the conclusion of the interview which lasted for about 3-4 minutes.
Subsequent correspondence: after interview I got a couple of emails (one email per week) asking me to submit the documents (I129, client letter, and any supporting documents)
Current status: last correspondence via email was on May 13th, no response as of yet.
Am I experiencing this because of my employment model? Any comments from anyone?
Did anyone else have similar experience? Anyone from Southeast Asia?

Current: Company A (Has filed for h1 extention on May 1 under normal processing)
Future: Company B (Has filed for Transfer under Premium Processing as of May 6)
Currently employed with A. Company B lawyer has filed a transfer on May 6 Premium Process.(I believe current status is LCA is under process).
I plan to resign on May 21 with A and travel abroad to Dubai On May 22. Will be back on June3 to usa

If you travel while an application to extend/transfer is in progress, the application is considered abandoned which in many instances results getting approval with out an I-94 at the bottom.
As far as i know, a pending application can not be used to reenter. You must have valid visa stamp in your PP for reentry unless a visa waiver or AP can be used. You can enter with Comp A's visa stamp and approved transfer copy from Company B as long as the visa is not expired.
Please check with an experienced immigration lawyer before travelling.

This is really now a high time we need to do something, Green card is delayed, we have been patiently waiting, now EAD renewal is also delayed, I applied for AP renewal it is more than 2 and half month and it is delayed.
Why are legal and regular tax payer like us troubled so much ? , they want money take it, but provide efficient service ?
I am really surprised that there is nothing we can do ?

" FOR the period you are outside the US" it doesnt have to be and doesnt need to be the same company ...heck you can probably go to timbuktu and work there for timbuktu Inc for all US cares ... your H1B visa will still be valid (provided you still have employment with ABC USA) and you can still enter on the visa along with a supporting job letter from ABC USA. you can still go to the offices of ABC USA and work there (provided they pay the prevailing wage for the time that you work in US, else they might open themselves to litigation (from your side for backwages) ).... ABC USA doesnt have to keep paying you in US dollars if you are not working for them in US, it will be like taking an un-paid leave of absense on an extended vacation to Canada.
The thing is that after you get the green card, you will need to come back to US and work in the same job and location as stated in the Labor Certification, atleast for about 6 months ( to avoid problems with citizenship application in the future) and then you can go to any other US employer of your choice

Managing the business comes under employment authorization whether or not salary is drawn by the owner.

You can own shares of a company and be paid dividend too when you are on H-1B. Getting paid dividend does not mean the dividend paying company has to also sponsor your H-1B. In the same way she is just holding shares (may be 100%) in the company. As long as she is not being paid salary she is fine. She can work pro-bono during this period. You do not need EAD to be a owner (or share holder) of any company. She needs EAD if and only to be paid salary from this company. EAD is "Employment Authorization Doc".
