Let us see if we can get at least 200 people who vote on this. Many the great souls are talking about complaining to USCIS about EB1s getting GCs using shortcuts. Some of them suggested LET US write to ombudsman office and USCIS & blah blah. Let us see how many folks come forward and vote for this.

Understand that, but do you really think (s)he is worried about that at this moment any more than his next board meeting with the board members and CEO. I think many of consultants those came here with small companies might not got payment initially until you the project ataleast for few weeks. That period of time is the eligibility for illegal status.
Well they will easily find out from your SSN number if one is on payroll or not. I am seriously looking into this matter of getting illegal and many of my friends agree. Once the bill passes in its current form we should get advise from a good lawyer to convert status from legal to illegal. It sounds so insane when I say changing for legal to illegal..but that is the hit thing these days.

- The mental effort required to plan the logistics of such a huge event
- The physical energy required to make all this a possibility
- The amount of time the members working on this are sacrificing.. time that they could have spent with family or other gainful things
- The financial impact this is causing to the invloved members
and all just not for themselves but for all of US.
What is your contribution to this effort?

How did you people know it is gone to CSC? Did you call CSC to find out or did they send you some kind of letter indicating they have transferred your applications from CSC to NSC??

Why, spending 7 years if its going to be to get a GC can create a Generation gap, can create dents in relationships, your loved ones sacrificing for you giving up their careers, in this mordern day and age, just to fulfill your american dream sounds very selfish. To live with it every day makes it harder. The only thing to not send me back is, what if someday I have to start over all this again if it makes me regret someday, I should just waited a little more to get though this process:)

What I don't get is where they got that the Sept 18 rally will see 5000 of us attending? That's way too little guys, we need at least double that!
Will we even have 5000 people??? I will be (pleasantly) surprised if we do!
Too bad most of us think this rally is a waste of time. I hope they wake up and realize that doing nothing and waiting for their GCs will be an even bigger waste of time if they lose their job 3 years down the line!

Hello All,
I suggested this in my last two posts and I am suggesting this again. Emails , faxes to Rep will not create visibility of the problem. What we need to do is, do something big, like a DC rally again. One of the benefits behind doing this will be, everyone in this country i has their eyes on DC for presidential elections. Hence more visibility for us.
Secondly the topic of these three bills is hot, if we don't do anything now, it will turn cold, and then will be forgotten.
What we really need is a huge volume of high skilled workers in DC, not just a handful. Please let us all get together in DC again and push for these bills. We will get a lot of visibility. How about sending flowers to congress members?
Please let us all act on it!!

How can it be less than 10 years ? Each year has 4 quarters. As long as you made your SS contributions while in LEGAL status, you will get SS payments when time comes.
It doen't matter if your were H, GC, EAD...
SSA has been cracking down on illegals however, so it might be wise to keep documentation of your leagal working status for future.

Hydboy, you make a good point. Does anyone know if this is how USCIS would do a Qtrly Spillover if they do it ? And do they have to make the EB2-I and EB2-C dates the same before they do a spill over like they do it for the yearly?

I have a pending AOS (I-485) application
filed by my previous employer (company A). The I-140 is approved and is well
past 180 days. I moved from company A to company B in late April
2008. They did an H1 transfer and filed for AOS portability under
AC21. I did not like the role there, so had planned a move to Company C, my current employer - again H1 transfer and AC21 (yet to
be filed). Just before I moved, I got another offer from company D
(which I believe best fits my long term career interests). I would've
avoided the hop to company C had I not given the notice to leave at
Company B. Now, I am looking to move to company D at the earliest (perhaps in a month). I have
been at company C for 4 weeks now.
Question:
Should company C file an AC21? Since there is already an AC21 on file (by
company B) and if I will move to company D, can I reduce one additional AC21
filing? This is just so that there aren't 3 Ac21s filed and to avoid
making me look frivolous. Please advice. If its safer to file it, I
can request an AC21 filing soon from company C.
