Yeah I get that the money will be transferred from the Social security system here to the Indian Govt system.
My point is it does not do a damn thing for us workers personally. That money will dissapear into a dark hole in the Indian Gov't coffers instead of a dark hole here, further as the rules stand, I have a slim chance of getting the money from here through social security payments when I turn 65 even if I am in India. Try that within the money in Indian gov't hands.
On the other hand, it makes the Indian gov't allign with corporate america, as they all have a vested interest in a Temp. worker program such as H1b absent green cards. Which will be a win win for all concerned except us.
So I repeat my question..................Why is this good again?

IV has the clout now to approach agencies, explain to them our argument and see if we are able to convince them for short-term reliefs. It is just a matter of trying.
I'm smiling. We will certainly try, but the part above (clout etc) would be an overstatement of our current levels of access. :)
Note that these are the same agencies that have been resisting our efforts to get even the most basic breakdown of data.

My spouse is landing here on Aug 15. That leaves only one day to get medicals done. Any suggestions on how to handle this ? Can she skip skin test and take X-rays directly ?
For skin PPD test , you have to go back to Doctor after 24-72 hours to show the reaction. If nothing comes up its good , but incase you are positive then you will have to go for XRay , so obviously you need to plan for more than 1 day.

My I-140 is approved in 2006 and now i have filed my I-485. My employer has not given me any kind of doucments like I-140 approved document or Labour Substitution document. The only form he gave is ETA 9035E after my substitue labour was approved. If I want to change job after 180 days using AC21 do I need any of doucments from this employer. If my employer is not ready to give , what is other alternative. Plesae advice.

Changing jobs after 180 days of I-1485 pending/ I-140 approved.
Simple question:
1. Should I file AC-21 Memo with USCIS or not?
2. What are the risks of filing AC-21?
Note: I am working on EAD in Texas and my Labor was at IL but similar job.
3. Does Ac-21 always trigger a RFE and/or Interview?
4. What are the advantages of filing AC-21?
Please advise.

Sure. I guess most of us would rather worry about such stuff on a weekend, considering our immigration options here.
Yep, I am more interested in the next 40 minutes when USCIS might release the inventory. :(

I guess most of the folks here are busy preparing to apply for 485. I have different problem here.
My employer's attorney is charging me outrageous fees of around $5000 to
apply for 485, AP and EAD for me and my spouse. This excludes USCIS fees. I work on hourly basis, so I should be taking care of immigration fees. My employer is not allowing me to file through another law firm.
Do I have any other options. How much do they charge usually.
Same with me My current attorney increased the fee overnight and luckily my employer is ready to work with others. find another one today and sent all the documents ( my 140 was already approved and available with me ) ..Dont want to take any risk with the 485 filing .....so hired another attorney

In Dallas (Las Collinas), if you dont have medical insurance, you can have an arrangement with the Doctor and Hospital.
Like one of my friend paid 3K for everything for Delivery + 5K I think for the hospitals. Ofcourse this is based on the delivery is not complicated / C-section couple of years ago.
Hope this helps.
To every one, thanks to one and all.
Here are my results, that I came out after one day research
************ Los Colinos Medical Center (Dallas Texas)
***********Regular*************C section
Dr *********4000***************4500
Hospital******3850***************5800
Anesthesio ***0000***************1000 (approx)
Total Exp ****7850***************11300
************Richardson Medical Center (Dallas Texas - Richardson)
************ Regular***************C section
Dr Fees ******2800***************3500
Hospital******4400***************6400
Anesthesio****0000***************1000 (approx)
Total ********7200***************10900
Total expenses if you pay by cash and this has to be paid before hand.
There was one more option i.e parkland systems in dallas area. But for that you to personally go to them and they asses your pay for the family and only then they will let you know the cost. I beleive it would be around the same or may be around 8000 dollars.
Thanks to one and all.

You can only use experience IF it is for EB3 AND EVEN THEN ONLY IF it so states on the labor certificate.
However, I have seen a few that have slid by the adjudicators. But the chances are very very slim and I have seen cases picked up later on if it was incorrectly approved ... but not always.
I'm certain you cannot do that. While applying for H1B Visa, you can use experience in lieu of education, but while Perm/I140, they consider only 1 degree. Either its Masters or its Bachelors...even both of them are not considered as aggregates.
If your attorney is planning that way, he may not have handled such cases before...
You cannot substitute degree with experience while applying for Perm/I140.

H1Bslave you have no idea what you are talking about. Find me a single Senator who is opposed to illegals and favors legals. By Legals I mean H1Bs like you and me. Ask that Senator if he supports H1Bs completely.
Or find me a bill that opposes illegals and fully supports legals ie; H1Bs like you and me.
This is a challenge for you.
I hope your slave mentality has enough wisdom to answer rather than asking your master who has exploited you so much that you have lost your rational thinking.

^^This is not gonna happen... and even if it did....well I guess the companies will finally take notice when there are no new people to hire and fire and their bottom lines are hit with permanent hires for every small and odd project......guess what that they will do then....outsource more work to other countries......:)
Good or bad, Virtue or Vice, companies simply can't hire permanent employees with full 'American' benefits for short-term projects....this where the consulting leeches come in.....its all supply and demand man....
And what makes you think that software consultancies cannot be run without H1-B visas?

EB2 likes visa bulletin predictions.
EB3 does not.
That explains the green or red in my opinion.
I hope once DOS decides to change the spillover and give the extra visas to Eb3 (whoever ROW , India....). The ensuing discussions from from the self glorified EB2 crowd here would make for an entertaining reading. I would like to see how much they enjoy the predictions after that.

It is that time again, the eager wait for the next month's Visa bulletin. It is almost like a monthly ritual for many.
Although there is no clear logic to the movements, there are folks in the line that hold some hope that this might be the one that will get them closer to the GC counter. (happens every month ! :p)
Since predicting VB dates is as close to pulling stuff out of thin air. My gaze in the crystal ball tells EB2-I and EB2-C to be the same: Feb 05 (hoping for a quarterly spill over in Jan 2010 :) )
As for Eb3 even the crystal ball turns foggy. I very much wish EB3-I sees some forward movement in the upcoming bulletin; may be at par with or at least close to ROW/China/Mex/Phil.
Let the Gazing Start... ;)
