My iBook G4s battery falls within the range on their page, but when I go to 'check out' it says the computer serial number is valid but not the battery? I think I'll call them tomorow...

    Dude...

    BOOKS ON TAPE!

...unless you're one of "those" people who likes to "read." Though having a newspaper front on my iPod would be convenient.

Seems pointless trying to do anything about it immediately. My PB serial number and battery serial numbers match the list, but I get:

"This computer serial number is not eligible for the Battery Exchange Program."

    and

"This serial number is invalid or does not qualify for the program."

Looks like they need to fix the site.

Photographed today at lake Leamy in Gatineau, near Ottawa. Very difficult to shoot them without a gazillion branchs around them, but then again, that is their environnement ;)

Good to know some Apple execs have a sense of humor. Nice story.

If apple does this right, it would be awesome. A screen similar to the sony ereader for reading and widescreen for movies.

There's been a debate for years over the differences in users between Mac & PC. One postulation is that Mac people are more savvy and personable, and will do something like walk over to a girl and offer up an ear bud, while the PC person would be too socially awkward to do that. Hence the difference in Jobs' idea of "sharing" vs. Bill Gates' version. One is social, the other mechanical.

Whether it's a true stereotype is up for grabs, but I can't help thinking that Billy hates Steve for being the "cool kid" even after becoming the richest person in the world.

Haha, that's the best part. And it's so true! Walk your ass over to that girl and sit next to her and share your music with her. Screw this "beaming it over" nonsense.

All iMac G5s have USB 2.0 - you're either mistaken or quoting your machine incorrectly.

You guys are right. I do have USB 2. It's just because system profiler didn't specify, it kind of confused me.

they buy foxconn and unmarked ASUS boards. ASUS leads in motherboard sells for a reason.

Again, citation needed. Apple doesn't even use ATX or mATX boards, all their logic boards are custom shaped and they are designed by Apple and manufactured by Foxconn.

Because getting your iToy within eye sight of a 300 Lb round-belly hillbilly or 400 Lb woman in pink stretch pants and camel toe does not make for the best experience.

I just thought I would let you know that you could still purchase an iPad at any of the other stores; just because RadioShack sells it as well does not mean that you have to purchase from them. Would you rather they didn't sell it at RadioShack or Walmart at all? Why wouldn't you want people who don't live near any of the other stores to have a nearby store from which to purchase Apple products?

Woah, so to get the album artwork it sends my list of songs to apple? what if I have an advance copy of an album from my friends band that I don't want apple to have? What about all those people who download albums, are they gonna get in trouble??
There's a disclaimer when your first open iTunes 7 that basically says the information sent to Apple will not be used for any other purpose other than to get album art.

You can turn off the option under Preferences.

I also like how they've integrated the iPod updates into iTunes without having to do the updates seperately.

Just wondering where the new 1.2 update is. I'm anxious to get it loaded on my 5G and get PacMan downloaded.

In addition, your conduct violates your own "Corporate Code of Ethics," making a mockery of your supposed corporate values.

You should be ashamed of your luddite and monopolistic behavior.

I really do believe that Sam Walton would be very upset at the path Wal-Mart has taken.

What about the laptops???? MBP's haven't been updated once and iMacs have been getting all the love. Count it!

Well, the iMacs haven't been updated once since they were released. This is the first update. The MBPs have been given speed bumps so I don't know what you are talking about. I'm sure the MBPs will be give C2D soon.

I don't get why they don't push a 220GB drive into the iPod Touch and sell that instead.. Best of both worlds!

Now that Apple has consolidated the portable line on Intel C2D processors, the line between the pro and consumer models are diminished. Perhaps Apple should combine the two lines into one with 4 models across the line, employing an updated MB enclosure.

The banner is current products (other than the Tiger disc) and is being waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy over analysed.

    You are right!

    Nothing new here!

I'm really looking forward to see what's happening on 10th August, even if I am not in the market for new gear, except for a new iPod.

    A week to go. Nice.

I'd rather read normal book. Screens will make your eyes cry.

I agree. I have already lost good eyesight thanks to laptops, computers, blackberries, ipods and the last thing I need is another small device to read off of.

When I first saw Core Animation and Spaces and how they worked and what they were capable of I immediately thought of what many people here have said before when Boot Camp first came out.

These two technologies, when combined, could make possible the idea of "Fast OS Switching". Could one of the "Top Secret" features be that Boot Camp was just there as a primer. It will still be there and operate in the same way but without the re-booting hassle. With Core Animation and Spaces, you could possibly have it running just as another user and "Fast Switch" between them. Being a part of Leopard now-(Boot Camp) it would stand to reason that these new technologies will be more easily accessable and used by Boot Camp.

Just a thought, let me know what you think.:D

I stopped in one during the summer for a car power plug for the iphone as i was traveling. they had only 1 generic one for almost $40! I walked to kmart next door and chose out of 3 kinds and bought a car and home plug charger for $20.

I do. Bought a sd card two weeks ago and headphones this past Sunday. Only one in the store both times so...
