Mac users pay... $129! Windows users pay... $399! Which is cheaper?Your little scenario is completely unrealistic. I know you want to throw that big $399 number around to try and prove your point, but please stop, it's pointless.
Someone upgrading from XP to Vista will either buy the upgrade version of Vista or if they are smart they will buy the full version oem. Your reasonable max amount to upgrade to Vista Ultimate is $259.00 and that's the MSRP (it wont stay $259). Plus you are assuming everyone is going to upgrade to ultimate, I know you don't want to mention that many people will uprgrade to home basic which is cheaper than OSX.
An oem full install of Vista ultimate will be under $200 based on the retail to oem pricing of all of Microsoft's OS's since win95. I expect an oem of Vista Ultimate will be about $180 at Newegg within 6 months to a year of it's release.

No, the events that take place during that game are after battle has already started. "First Contact" and the start of the Human/Covenant war happened 6 years earlier than the events of Halo Wars, which in turn is about 20 years before Reach and the following games.

LOL! That's precisely why the "limited supply" iPad2 launch was such a fiasco. You impulse buyers couldn't pull the trigger. Seriously... were this any other company other than Apple at least top 3 execs would have had their asses thrown out the door.
As an aside... my local Wal-Mart has had iPad2's for 2 weeks now. I've been there at least 3 times a week and they're always in stock.
The board that oversees what the top 3 executives do at Apple knows more than you about production issues of MILLIONS of hi-tech devices.
Anybody familiar with production and distribution issues knows that despite excellent planning there may be issues during production that cannot be forecast.
Selling and shipping MILLIONS in a few weeks is a exactly fiasco for whom?

agree that the mono mixes are better. but leave the stereo ones alone.I hope the Beatles catalog will include both versions. For example, the mono version of Blue Jay Way was much different than the stereo version, so I'll have to get both.

Awww and I haven't even gotten tired of my first generation nano yet...
But if the metal enclosure is as good as those on the minis then I might just have to upgrade. :p

Luckily I can see just enough of the bottom of the screen to put in on shuffle songs, so it's like having and extra wide black shuffle. I'm waiting update before I buy a new one. Besides, my trusty mini still works too.

does anyone else feellike the ipod needs to be quicker? some times it takes like five to ten seconds for it to start playing songs of movies, maybe the interface is so simple that i tell it what to do too fast and get ahead of it? also if you listen to music and browse your pics some times the music skipps. maybe the nvidia chips will cure this?

The only thing I don't like is that the album art view options don't work for iPod music.
The EQ column option is cool, I don't know if it's new or not, but I just discovered it.

So, the way it is now, you buy Photoshop for around $650 and after 18 months you can upgrade for $190. Total: $840 for 36 months, plus you still have your software to use for as long as you want if you choose not to upgrade anymore...
So, $35 x 36 months = $1260 and after the 36 months finnish, you have nothing... :confused:
I don't see a big advantage here, unless you only use photoshop in a few projects a year... I don't know anyone who does that, tho...

Think again.
CS3 has been published a long while ago, and Snow Leopard is brand new. A lot of system libraries have changed. I do not expect Windows 3.1 software to run correctly on Windows 7 either.

Ok, so here is what I think is happening. The release of MBP may happen before the iPad because Apple want to have customers buy both the iPad and the MBP. On the other hand, the release of a brand new product (iPad) is critical for them and they need to pull everything into it. That's why they choose not releasing MBP untill AFTER the iPad in fear of killing the interest of it.
So my conclusion is that it's either happening this tuesday or never...
and by never I mean many weeks after the iPad launch, far out in april :(

Good god this thing is an ugly beast! From the side navigation panel to the scrollbars and buttons, to the Store itself - this has got to be the least asthetically appealing consumer app from Apple in a very long time. Windows XP style FTW!

I'm sure it'll be $999 full, or $299 upgrade for the full studio. At least I hope so. Here I stand, cash in hand!
Currently the Mac App Store has no way of offering an upgrade to existing Mac software. I don't see that changing.
I suspect that all these apps will be stripped of their sample media. They're all quite small without them. Perhaps Apple will sell those files separately on their own on DVDs?

Because you made a post that claimed our editing skills have nothing to do with creativiy or experience, but simply that 'knowing the software' is the only advangate we have.
Telling people that they're useless at their jobs is gonna make people bitter.
I don't feel pissy about this, but you basically told me that I really should be because I'm actually useless and only Final Cut's complexity has been making me appear smart, when in fact I was not.

I'm really excited for the new features, many of which sound great, but I wonder why they couldn't just implement them into the current FCP interface? I'm a heavy Final Cut Pro user and really fast with the current application. I hate to have to learn an entirely new interface.
I would be shocked if the keystrokes were different, so you'll have that going for you.

This issue is the double vibrate right when you get the text. I can see how people like it, but it's just annoying for me. My emails and texts are usually in the same importance level and I need to respond to either of them ASAP. It just feels weird and kinda wish they had the option. Oh well. Maybe in 4.3.2
